How to locate a book in open-shelf access?
Once you have found the required publication in the online catalogue:
- note down its shelfmark and the collection to which it belongs.
Most collections are arranged on the shelves by shelfmark numbers, with the exception of mandatory reading (Lektury - L).
In the Basic Library collection the books are arranged by shelfmark number in ascending order, i.e. book number 318001 will be followed by a book number 318002, then 318003 and so on.
The shelfmark can be found on the back cover of a publication:
In order to locate a book with a 266 602 T shelfmark:
|- find the shelf with a collection marked T,|
|- find the book number 266 602.|
